Booking direct, is a win all round!
I pay a 1.8% transaction charge per booking and make a 1% voluntary donation to environmental charities (carbon removal), so the cost to you is reduced if you book directly, because when you book via one of the OTAs (online travel agents) you will find the prices marked up to compensate for their hefty charges. Also my calendar is open further in advance for direct bookings (I’ve had to reduce the window for advance bookings via booking.com due to high volumes of very last minute cancellations) plus on my own website I can modify booking restrictions- for example I can override the ‘no checkouts on a Saturday’ policy on request, and select any payment schedule you prefer and be more flexible in general. Also if you wish to make changes to your booking whether it’s changing the dates or adding or removing guests, it’s really straightforward, unlike on the booking platforms.
